WELCOME!

Our small group is located in Mānoa, the flagship campus of the University of Hawai'i system. Although the weather is always nice here, and some of us like to surf, hike, or just relax and enjoy double rainbows, we passionately spend long hours in the lab because we also love doing research. We have so many questions we want to answer! Why is Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) such a successful pathogen? How can we find better therapies to fight tuberculosis? How different are extracellular and intracellular Mtb subpopulations? How do the host immune cells respond to these bacteria? Why do bacteria make different ribosomes when zinc is limited? Is protein synthesis affected by this change in ribosome composition? And many, many more! If you want to find out about our research and meet Prisic group members, please explore further.
